Since my first wedding in 1976 to today, I have seen many approaches, considerations, and ideas for wedding ceremonies. Each one is unique and deserves close attention to the bride and groom as individuals and as a couple. The ceremony becomes a natural outgrowth of the concentric circles of family, friends, and colleagues who will share the wedding celebration and participate in building the marriage.
The wedding is certainly something to look forward to, but even more important is the strength it can provide as one looks back and reflects on it.
Planning for the ceremony will impact all of the parties differently as varying degrees of "ownership" are invested in it. The challenges of interweaving family cultures and heritage along with shared or diverse faith issues will be addressed together.
Stress is guaranteed as choices are made. Some of these choices are difficult and lead to "relational testing" with family, friends, and each other. My task is to work with you as Producer, Director, Choreographer, Telepromter & Anxiety Reduction Assistant so that you can star in this special time together as we celebrate your relationship.
I am best known for my ability to bring comfort, peace, professionalism, and a sense of humor to the process of performing the ceremony. Having beena real Church pastor, what I do now is more than a job… it is my life work. My personal interest in each person and sharing my own life have opened up discussions that have now led to multi-decade-long friendships after the wedding.
Whether the ceremony is just for the bride and groom in a park under an oak tree or in a downtown hotel with a dozen or two attendants, or with hundreds of guests, I have been blessed to connect with the hearts and minds of those present.
The wedding ceremony is a statement of the relationship between the bride and groom, their families and friends. It belongs to all of you, but we get to script it together. The process is the end result of celebration.
